London can’t afford to lose its social and economic
diversity suggests a new report, Housing Policy in High-Density Global Cities,
that argues the provision of affordable rental housing in the capital could
benefit the city by millions of pounds. The report considers the economic and
social challenges that face large global cities such as London and the
implications these have for housing policy. The research, by the University of
Westminster, sets out a rigorous cost benefit analysis which shows that there
is a net benefit to the London economy of more than £17,000 per annum for each
