Rent arrears in the English housing association sector
fell for the second successive month, according to a HCA survey. The HCA’s latest quarterly survey of
registered providers shows the median level of rent arrears among 265 housing
associations surveyed for January to March was 3.4 per cent. This is down from
3.9 per cent in October to December last year and 4.1 per cent in July to
September last year. The HCA said: ‘Income collection data suggests that providers
are continuing to manage the impact of welfare reform on their cash flows.’
