Kris Hopkins has been moved off the housing brief after
just nine months as part of the reshuffle in what has been branded a
‘ministerial merry-go-round’, the CLG has confirmed. Mr Hopkins, MP for
Keighley, was promoted to housing minister in the last reshuffle in October,
replacing Mark Prisk. A spokesperson for the CLG said that Mr Hopkins will
cover local government. The CLG confirmed that Brandon Lewis has been promoted
to cover the housing and planning brief, uniting the two roles. Read more on
