Councils approved nearly half of the applications made in
the last quarter to turn redundant office buildings into new homes, new figures
reveal. Statistics released by the CLG show that of the 1,900 applications
received by local authorities in the last quarter, 900 were approved. Last
year, the government relaxed planning rules to allow office space to become
