Over three million people in the UK are living in fear of
being unable to meet their rent or mortgage payments this January. Research by
housing charity Shelter and pollsters YouGov found that 59% of rent or mortgage
payers across the country are already struggling to keep up with their housing
costs. Shelter is warning that ignoring money worries rather than seeking
advice could lead to people’s homes being put at risk. More than a quarter
(26%) of those polled said they would feel too ashamed to ask for help if
