James Brokenshire - Home Office: I am announcing the roll
out of the second phase of the measures relating to the private rented sector
as prescribed by sections 20-37 of the Immigration Act 2014, otherwise known as
the Right to Rent scheme. Where these provisions apply, landlords are prohibited
from renting accommodation to people who are disqualified from a right to rent
by virtue of their immigration status. The provisions will come into force
across the whole of England as of 1 February 2016. Read more on the Parliament
website.
