A programme for communities all-but abandoned by
conventional provision of affordable housing has been launched to help them
tackle the crisis locally by building their own homes. Locality, a national
network of community-led organisations, has secured funding from the charitable
Nationwide Foundation to deliver its Early Stage Support programme. The scheme
will help 22 community groups start up their own community-led housing projects
to provide “affordable, decent homes for local people”. Read more on the
