Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has confirmed he will
lead government plans to “level up” prosperity across the Midlands as the new
Ministerial Champion for the Midlands Engine. The move supports plans to develop
a refreshed Midlands Engine strategy, reaffirming the government’s commitment
to the Midlands and outline how the region can continue to build on its
strengths. The partnership is said to be fully supported by the government and
comes amid a push to grow the Midlands economy and make the region a better
