Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has visited a LoCal
Homes factory in Aldridge in Walsall to get a first-hand glimpse at off-site
manufacturing. The factory, which opened in October last year by Accord, builds
low-carbon homes ‘up to four times faster’ than traditional homes by using
modern methods of construction. Jenrick said: “I was delighted to visit the
West Midlands, where I’m from, which is blazing a trail for the modern methods
of construction that are transforming how quickly and affordably homes are
