End In Sight for Localism Bill

The Localism Bill had its House of Commons report stage - at which MPs had an opportunity to consider further amendments to the Bill - on 17 and 18 May 2011, with the Third Reading happening immediately after. The Report Stage is primarily an opportunity to report back to the House the changes that were made during the Committee Stage, and a chance to consider further amendments that have been tabled since then. Communities Secretary Eric Pickles has tabled 237 amendments to the Bill. There were also 30 or so more amendments from backbenchers and the Labour front bench. These include 14 amendments to the housing provisions in the Bill. Read more on the HouseMark website.
