Hounslow Council will retain its ALMO to manage its housing for at least another five years. Councillors agreed that the ALMO will continue to have responsibility for the council’s 15,500 homes following a review of the current contract, which ends in 2012. Julie Brooker, chair of Hounslow federation of tenants and residents associations, said: ‘We are delighted that the council has voted to keep Hounslow Homes. This is a great result for all tenants and leaseholders. The hard work now begins to make sure that what is put in place enhances resident empowerment, delivers continuous improvement and demonstrates best value.’ Read more on Inside Housing.
