A council which is selling homes for £1 has recorded 600
expressions of interest as it launches its application process for the scheme.
The plan is for 35 rundown homes in the city to be brought back into use. The
council will sell the homes for £1 and initially cover the costs of
refurbishing the homes, which the home owners will have to pay back over a set
period of time. Applicants must satisfy
various criteria. These include having lived in their home in Stoke-on-Trent
for the past three years, having an income of between £18,000 and £30,000 a
year and being able to commit to living in their new property for at least five
years. Read more on Inside Housing.
