The government has agreed the first contract under its build
to rent fund, which supports homes for private rent. The £3.5 million deal will fund 102 homes for
private rent that will be built as part of the £500 million Centenary Quay
project in Southampton . As well as the £3.5
million for private rent, the government is also putting in £2 million to
deliver 72 affordable homes and £1.96 million of Get Britain building funding
to support 56 homes. Build to rent is a
£1 billion fund to support private rented sector homes. Funding is issued in
the form of loans or investments, and is fully recoverable. Read more on Inside Housing.
