The latest data and analysis from Nationwide has shown
that UK annual house price growth softened to 2% during June- down 0.4% against
the previous month. Once again, the capital was the weakest performing region
in Q2, with prices down 1.9% year-on-year. According to the figures, most
regions saw a slowing in the annual rate of house price growth in the second
quarter. The East Midlands was the region that saw the strongest pace of growth
in Q2, with prices up 4.4% year-on-year, just nudging ahead of the West
